BELTON -- In the midst of a tight three-horse race for second place in the District 16-5A baseball standings, the Belton Tigers hosted the Killeen Ellison Eagles on Thursday night hoping to get a leg up on their competition going into the final week of the season. The Tigers did just that by blitzing the Eagles with a 13-run second inning as they cruised to a 23-1 win to wrap up a sweep of their district foe and secure a spot in the postseason.
