Courtesy photo from Becky HolbrookThe Siuslaw girls track and field team traveled down to Hayward Field for the 2025 OSAA State Championships May 29-30, with six athletes battling with the ferocity of Vikings to earn a top-10 team finish. Siuslaw placed ninth of the 32 teams in attendance, but with some highlights and personal records to show for it. Head Coach Chris Johnson was happy with the result and proud of how his team performed.

Mode is a trainer at Fitness 101 in Salishan Marketplace, and though she helps folks get stronger for her work, right now, she’s training for a 100-mile mountain trail run this coming July.
