When most came back with waitlists and rejections, BC emerged as her best option.     Exeter-based bestselling author Brendan DuBois pleaded guilty Thursday to four Class A felony charges of of possessing child sexual abuse images. DuBois, 64, reached a plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 3½ to 7 years for two of the charges. He was given two suspended sentences of 7½ to 15 years for the other two charges, meaning the sentences could be imposed after the original sentences if he fails to comply with probation conditions.

Unanimous approval from the Hampton Zoning Board of Appeals last week gave developers of the project the green light for the structure to be 15 feet higher and contain 12 more condos than the town of Hampton normally permits.

Jack Butler, S.J., was sitting in his office at about 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday when he found out the Board of Trustees had elected him as the next University president of Boston College. By 1:05 p.m., the news had been emailed out to the rest of the BC community.
