The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs against solar cell imports from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia. In its final affirmative determinations for the antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) tariff investigation, the DOC announced steep tariffs on solar cell imports, whether assembled into modules or not, from the four countries.

Solar PV and energy storage technology will need policy support to reach “economically optimal” levels for the global energy transition, according to the latest forecast by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BloomberNEF). The New Energy Outlook 2025 report forecast that global renewable energy capacity will increase by 84% in the next five years and double again by 2050, serving 67% of global electricity demand.
