On March 14, EPA released its long-awaited proposed rule limiting concentrations of six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) or “forever chemicals,” in public drinking water. The proposed rule would set a legally enforceable maximum contaminant level (MCL) for PFOA and PFOS at 4 parts per trillion or “ppt” each.
