Allegations of dust violations from banned manufactured stone on Queensland development sites have emerged amid an "industry wide compliance blitz". Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) confirmed this week it has issued two notices for alleged contraventions at multi-storey construction sites. Dust from the manufactured stone is known to cause deadly lung disease silicosis. The material - often used for kitchen surfaces - was banned across Australia in July this year.
