A veteran American surfer says it "felt like I stuck my foot on a light socket" when he was bitten by a shark that he accidentally stepped on at a Florida beach earlier this month. Charley Hajek, 62, better known as "Gnarly Charley," had been surfing for 148 days in a row when a bull shark chomped down on his ankle in a few feet of water at The Inlet at New Smyrna Beach near Orlando on September 22. "I could tell I was on top of something," Hajek told the Daytona Beach Journal.
