When difficult situations are presented, we become sympathetic, but how often do we consider that God may have brought these individuals to our attention so that we can not only pray but actually intervene in some tangible way?

Gerald R. Marquardt, 92, affectionately known as Jerry or “Red,” a former resident of Hyde Park, NY, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, while receiving comfort care at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. Born in Buffalo, NY, on Oct. 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Norman and Anne (Bischoff) Marquardt. Jerry moved when he was 6 years old to Groveland, NY, where he lived with his family until Grade 6.

Transformation is a word used to explain what happens when someone is saved. It’s the theme of the Christian faith, but what about the daily progression of our relationship with God? Many today think the idea of changing into the image of Jesus no longer applies to them because they go to church and listen to Christian songs on the radio. This is good, but our relationship with God is not contained within a couple of hours per week. Do we only think about Jesus when we take communion?
