Introduction A large proportion of the general population will be afflicted with low back pain (LBP) at some point in their lifetime (Hoy et al., 2012; Vlaeyen et al., 2018), particularly in working age groups (Hartvigsen et al., 2018). It is likely that more than half a billion individuals suffer from LBP at any time point (Wu et al., 2020), some on an ongoing basis (Hoy et al., 2012).
