Mark Benbow, Citywire A-rated high yield portfolio manager at Aegon Asset Management, has backed his sector will fair well in the wake of Trump’s tariffs announcement, which has rocked markets this week.
‘Generically high yield should do well vs equities, income based returns through contracted coupons vs capital based returns,’ Benbow said.
But even within high yield, Benbow is avoiding sectors impacted most by tariffs, such as autos, chemicals and US consumer products.

Coller Capital has acquired a $1.6bn senior direct lending portfolio from American National, a US-based multiline insurance company.
The landmark deal is the largest limited partner-led credit secondaries transaction to date focused on senior direct lending.

Germany’s largest asset manager DWS has agreed to pay a €25m fine to settle a long-running greenwashing investigation by the Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office.
