MILLWALL defender Japhet Tanganga pinpointed his side’s determination to put their bodies on the line as the main factor behind the Lions’ recent defensive improvement. A poor start to the season saw Millwall concede seven goals in two games, but since then they have only conceded four goals in seven league games and kept three clean sheets. Tanganga told NewsAtDen it was a team effort. “I think it’s a team thing where we are well structured and we’re just hard to beat,” Tanganga said.

AN island of glass skyscrapers is an unlikely birthplace for a club like Millwall. The Lions have been without several key players this season, and have been left especially light on numbers up front. Midfielder Billy Mitchell and winger Adam Mayor have been absent since the start of the season, while forwards Josh Coburn and Tom Bradshaw have only been able to appear in two and three games respectively.

MILLWALL defender Japhet Tanganga told NewsAtDen he decided to join the Lions permanently in part because of his strong relationship with the club and its fans. Tanganga, 25, joined the club permanently after spending the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan from Tottenham. He became indispensable at the back during his loan spell, starting seventeen league games at centre-back.
