MILLWALL defender Japhet Tanganga pinpointed his side’s determination to put their bodies on the line as the main factor behind the Lions’ recent defensive improvement. A poor start to the season saw Millwall concede seven goals in two games, but since then they have only conceded four goals in seven league games and kept three clean sheets. Tanganga told NewsAtDen it was a team effort. “I think it’s a team thing where we are well structured and we’re just hard to beat,” Tanganga said.

MILLWALL forward Duncan Watmore praised the talent and maturity of his side’s young attackers while embracing his growing leadership role. Watmore has had a fantastic start to the season, and is the Championship’s third-top scorer after scoring five goals in eight league starts. No other Millwall player has scored more than two goals in the league. Millwall boss Neil Harris was a potent goalscorer in his playing days and he has clearly rubbed off on Watmore.

MILLWALL head coach Neil Harris suggested that the Lions may have close to “a fully fit squad by the time of the next international break”. The Lions have been without several key players this season, and have been left especially light on numbers up front. Midfielder Billy Mitchell and winger Adam Mayor have been absent since the start of the season, while forwards Josh Coburn and Tom Bradshaw have only been able to appear in two and three games respectively.
