    SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Exciting times are ahead for the Sarasota Christian School Blazers. For the first time in program history, the team is playing the traditional style of 11 man football. This concept is when both the offense and defense have 11 players on the field. This is the style of football that is played on all levels. The program going into its third year of existence. The first two years were eight-on-eight for the Blazers.

    SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Cougars football team is back on the field this week for the first week of fall camp. Things are drastically different compared to a week ago when the team’s field was underwater due to flooding in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Debby. The field is dry now, and head football coach, Jared Clark, says he and his guys are ready to get things underway.

    VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) - Suncoast native and Venice High School alumnus, Mac Guscette, is ready to put on a show for the Atlanta Braves and the Suncoast community that will be watching from afar. He’s currently in Augusta, Georgia with the Atlanta Braves Single A affiliate club, The Augusta GreenJackets . This coming a little more than a week after the organization signed him as an undrafted free agent, and he still doesn’t have the words to describe his true feelings.

    SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Conditions continue to improve at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School following flooding conditions that happened at many of the school’s outdoor athletic facilities. This comes following the aftermath of Tropical Storm Debby. The school’s track, softball and football fields were covered in water for than 24 hours. School officials say at one point there was so much water, it was deep enough to swim in.
