1 Introduction Ischemic stroke (IS) is a focal neurologic deficit disease that is caused by arterial occlusion due to thrombosis or embolism. It accounts for 60%–70% of all stroke types (Hilkens et al. 2024). IS is characterized by acute and persistent cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, IS results in a detrimental disruption of brain blood circulation, leading to severe and often irreversible consequences (Hankey 2017).
