Introduction Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is considered one of the best treatments for end-stage knee osteoarthritis.1 However, some of the patients face a deterioration of knee symptoms and function sometime after TKA and are finally in need of revision surgery. The risk of TKA failure requiring revision is reported to be up to 5%,2 which makes it a severe threat that cannot be ignored.
