    Synthesis and properties of an O-doped aromatic belt† A new macrocyclic arene, dibenzofuran[3]arene, was synthesized, which could be conveniently transformed to an O-doped aromatic belt with a rigid ring-shaped structure and deep cavity. Moreover, the O-doped aromatic belt also showed a high HOMO energy and a narrow HOMO–LUMO gap experimentally and theoretically.
