1 Introduction Hypertensive thalamic hemorrhage (HTH) is a common, disabling, and fatal clinical disease that accounts for ∼13% of cerebral hemorrhages (Arboix et al. 2007). Severe neurological function defects can occur because of the deep anatomical location and complex structure of the thalamus, which is close to important neural structures, such as the internal sac, brain stem, hypothalamus, and ventricle (Shah et al. 2005).
