Yes, that's precisely what has been happening in Israel. The parties in Netanyahu's coalition have been incentivized by their poor polling to paper over their differences, knowing that if they don't hang together, they will hang separately. We're seeing a stress test of that now.

@Yair_Rosenberg Coming from a presidential system myself, I was fascinated to learn that the dynamics of parliamentary systems is that unpopular coalitions tend to hold together for mutual electoral advantage. We saw this in Canada too (Trump saved the Liberals from themselves)
