The fourth amendment to Chinese patent law (Article 42) introduced PTE into China for the first time in 2021, and 2 years later, China revised the Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law and the Guidelines for Patent Term Extensions (PTE) which entered into force on January 20, 2024. CNIPA has yet to publish the official fees for PTE. Examinations will begin once the official fees are published. This article will describe an extensive overview of PTE applications, including our recommendations.

Therefore, it is vitally important to increase farmers’ sustainable livelihood resilience to enhance the stability and sustainability of poverty alleviation efforts.
