It is undisputed and well researched that pesticides have negative effects on nature and humans, therefore major pesticide reduction is an objective for several European countries (European Commission, 2020). However, pesticides are also important for food security (Cooper and Dobson, 2007). Therefore, scientists are investigating innovative agricultural practices that meet sustainability goals (Colnenne-David et al., 2017).
