I posted this as a quick comment on Facebook, but realised it might make more sense to turn it into a quick, blog-gy piece instead. I’ll be writing more of these very short pieces in the future. Posting them on my site gives them more permanence and searchability. Thank you for reading and reposting. It’s so, so easy to make fun of Donald Trump.

If you like this, please consider supporting my work. Of all the movies in the Alien franchise, the third is the darkest of them all. It is literally dark, with much of the action taking place in dimly lit corridors, winding spaces, and mineshafts. It is also thematically bleak, set on the penal colony planet Fiorina “Fury” 161, to which the worst male criminals have been sent to be the workforce in an abandoned mining venture.

In all this chaos, it has become clear that the public is wearying of the same old politics.

For reasons made clear in this week's NEW essay, this one from the archive is especially relevant! "Is there such a thing as truly original work? Well, yes. And, also, well, no." https://t.co/9ghdbBQJo7
