We all need each other. No one is as strong as they think they are right now. We’re all surviving, living, healing, and looking for true community and love as best as we can. Don’t just check on your people. Be gentle. Be self-aware. Be love. Be kind. With everyone and yourself.

I know that it seems like life has moved on, but this pandemic has impacted ALL OF US in ways that many people will still cope with for years to come. That in tandem with any additional trauma you’ve experienced is enough to send anyone over the edge.

Your goofy friend needs to be checked on. Your friend that has it all together needs to be checked on. Your socially withdrawn friend needs to be checked on. Your friend that’s there for everyone else needs to be checked on. We ALL need community.

While I’m 100% in agreement that we shouldn’t respond to news of suicide with “check on your strong friends” I also hope we’re taking from this that everyone, not just people who appear “strong” need to be checked on.

In this heavy world that we live in, if you have joy and peace - don’t take it for granted. Rest in gratitude for your blessings as much as possible.
