AfDB, in a statement, said this was the outcome of a two-day meeting held at the bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, by the Steering Committee of the Board of Governors. The candidates cleared to contest for the top position represent a diverse cross-section of Africa’s leadership and development expertise.

    To mark the forthcoming 70th birthday of Dr. Wale Okediran, former National President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and the current Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), the Wale Okediran @70 National Poetry Competition has been launched. This competition is open to young and emerging writers aged 25 years or younger. Submission Guidelines include free verse or stanza format with a maximum of 20 lines in English language.

    The General Overseer of Christ Crusaders’ Deliverance Ministries, Akute, Ogun State, Apostle Festus Adewole has appealed to all the children of the Late Madam Ayoola Ashake Olanbiwonninu Williams (aka Iya Olowosokedile) to preserve the good legacies left behind by their mother. Late Madam Williams died peacefully in her sleep on November 1, 2024 and was buried on Friday, January 31, 2025.
