1. IntroductionGlioblastoma (GBM) is a devastating and intractable type of brain cancer. It is the most common malignant central nervous system (CNS) tumour, with a prevalence of 3.23 per 100,000 people and a 5-year survival rate of only 7.2% in the United States [1]. Even with current multimodal treatment that involves maximal safe surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, the median survival is still less than 2 years [2,3].
