    The United Kingdom’s National Obesity Forum has apparently decided that returning to school this fall in the middle of a pandemic isn’t stressful enough for kids, and is recommending that its National Child Measurement Programme be expanded to have 4- to 5-year-old and 10- to 11-year-old children weighed when they return to the classroom – and then weighed again in the spring – in a bid to tackle COVID-19–related gains.

    Did you know that over half the adults on earth will have obesity by 2050? Or that health-related quality of life and health utility after bariatric surgery was markedly better than after medical treatment for patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes? Or that 5 years of web-based cognitive behavior therapy to maintain behavior change didn’t help people to maintain their weight losses? These were the conclusions of three recently published articles. Sounds grim — except for one thing.
