In March 2023, news surfaced of James Gunn directing a new Superman film. By April, Superman: Legacy began pre-production. June saw the cast announcement, revealing David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Superman and Lois Lane, with Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Fast forward to February 22, 2024, and Gunn shared the first cast photo, hinting at the film's progress.
