    Facial expressions provide important social cues that attract attention. Humans are sensitive to other human faces, even during early developmental stages (Fantz, 1963; Leppänen, 2016; Leppänen et al., 2007). When communicating with others, individuals spontaneously infer underlying emotions from facial expressions and adjust their behaviors and reactions accordingly (Ekman & Friesen, 1971; Ekman et al., 1987; Tracy & Randles, 2011).
