1. IntroductionMetabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is among the most prevalent chronic liver conditions, affecting roughly 25% of the global population [1]. Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a more severe form of MASLD characterized by hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis. MASH can lead to poor clinical outcomes, including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and is an independent risk factor for increased liver-related mortality [2].
