Lerane Khaybullayeva diseñó su restaurante en la ciudad ucraniana occidental de Leópolis para que se pareciera a la casa y al jardín de sus padres en Crimea, la península ucraniana que Rusia ocupa desde 2014. Lo llama su Jardín Crimeano, y allí estableció el Museo de Memorias de Crimea, al que invitó a sus amigos y vecinos a llevar algo que les recuerde a Crimea:Я могла би назвати його Музеєм Криму, але це звучало б пафосно і монументально.

Lerane Khaybullayeva designed her restaurant in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv to resemble her parents’ house and yard in Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula which Russia has occupied since 2014. She called it the Crimean Yard, and she established the Museum of Crimean Memories there, inviting her friends and neighbors to bring something reminding them of Crimea:Я могла би назвати його Музеєм Криму, але це звучало б пафосно і монументально.

Durante aproximadamente seis meses en 2022, las fuerzas rusas que invadían la ciudad de Izyum, en la región de Járkov, al este de Ucrania, bloquearon todas las conexiones de internet y móviles, lo que impedía a los lugareños transferir información a las fuerzas armadas u organismos ucranianos. Quienes permanecieron en Izyum pasaron medio año de completa incertidumbre sobre qué estaba pasando con sus seres queridos y cuál era el estado de su país.
