The DPDPA requires advertisers–as data fiduciaries–to obtain explicit, informed, and specific consent before processing personal data. Earlier this month, the central government also released draft DPDP Rules–needed for the implementation of DPDPA–proposing detailed requirements for consent, its withdrawal, and the processing of children’s data.
