Microsoft is adding a new feature to the Snipping Tool on Windows 11 that will allow users to create GIFs, meaning Windows is finally getting a built-in GIF maker after all these years. The feature is now in early testing with Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels, and will likely roll out more broadly in the coming weeks. The feature is tied to the screen recording feature in Snipping Tool.

Users across the web are reporting that Windows Hello no longer works in the dark. This change was first reported back in April, and unfortunately doesn't appear to be a bug. As detailed in April's Patch Tuesday release notes, Windows now requires both IR sensors and a webcam that can see your face to sign in. Previously, Windows Hello relied on infrared (IR) sensors to create a 3D facial scan that it would then use to log you in.

This wallpaper will be iconic to many who used Windows Vista. Microsoft's iconic Windows Vista boot sound from 2006 has made a surprise return in the latest preview builds of Windows 11. Users booting their PCs after installing the latest flight will have been greeted by an absolute blast from the past as the startup sound shared by both Windows Vista and Windows 7 plays when logging in.

I genuinely cannot believe that the Windows Insider Canary Channel is STILL missing Windows Recall, Click To Do, and a whole bunch of other Copilot+ PC features. Some of which are now shipping to production! Frustrating indeed.
