The Miles City Posse 19U co-ed club soccer team won the Montana Cup championship for the second year in a row. The Montana Cup, which serves as the annual end-of-season tournament for Miles City Posse, is the largest event hosted by the Montana Youth Soccer Association. Defense didn't necessarily win championships for the Mavericks in their four-game Saturday/Sunday home stand against the Laurel Dodgers and Billings Cardinals at Denton Field, but it certainly won them all four of their games against those two teams on this weekend. With 6-5 and 13-6 wins over Laurel, and 4-3 and 3-0 against the Billings Cardinals, the Mavericks moved into first place in the Eastern A Legion standings with a 7-1 conference record.

For the first time in two weeks, the Outlaws got back on the field to play baseball. On Sunday, they played the 406 Flyers at home, winning 10-9 and 19-13. The 10-9 victory came in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the eighth inning, as Raymond Shawver blasted a solo home run to right field for the win. The spring sports seasons, and the 2024-2025 academic year, have now come to a close, and what a year it was for one to look back on. With the anchor leg remaining in the Class A girls' 4x400 relay at the Class A State Track and Field Championships in Kalispell, Peyton Frame received the baton from Odessa Glade, with the Cowgirls in fourth place, still a good 30-40 meters behind the lead. On the weekend of May 23-24, Peyton Frame won three state track and field titles up in Kalispell, winning the 800, the 1600, and anchoring the 4x4 relay. She also took second in the 400 on day one. It was a record setting season for the junior, who set the school record in the 400 at the Top Ten Meet in Laurel with a 56.84, the 1600 at state in 5:02.45, the 4x4 relay in 4:02.61, and the CCDHS and Class A records in the 800 with her time of 2:12.35 on Saturday.

For six and-a-half innings of their doubleheader against the Glendive Blue Devils Saturday at Denton Field, the Mavericks were outplayed in nearly every facet of the game. But in the seventh inning of game one, and all of game two, they got on a roll.

Putting on a fair, or any large event, for that matter, takes a lot of planning months in advance, it takes attracting people to an event, and selling them on it. Therefore, it takes a lot of advertising. For the Custer County Fair Board, getting the word out about this year's upcoming event has taken the focus of their recent planning effortsBillboards, social media, short videos, posters, signs around town, the newspaper, you name it.
