The Boston Bruins announced this morning that Marco Sturm has been named as the team’s newest Head Coach, concluding his time with the Kings organization. Sturm has been the Head Coach of the Ontario Reign since 2022 and was with the Kings as an assistant coach from 2018-22. As the leader of the Reign, the team posted a 119-80-11-6 record, including a trip to the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs in 2024.

The LA Kings have signed forward Martin Chromiak to a contract extension. The deal for Chromiak is a one-year contract, carrying an AAV of $775,000. Chromiak was set to become a restricted free agent this summer and now extends his deal with the organization for another season. Last month, when taking an overall assessment of the team’s free agents, both restricted and unrestricted, I wrote that Chromiak felt like one of two players I could confidently say would re-sign with the organization.
