Polestar is cutting $5,900 from the 3’s base price by introducing a rear-wheel-drive single-motor version. Is this 2025 Polestar 3 model any good?

The CX-50 Hybrid beats with the heart of a RAV4 Hybrid, but the Mazda offers a few things you can’t get anywhere else. Great steeringDrives 100+ miles farther on a tankMore fun than a RAV4Tight rear seatEngine lacks familiar CX-50 snarlNo 360-degree camera option on hybridYou don’t need a Magic 8 Ball to predict that you’ll see RAV4 or CR-V SUVs everywhere on your way to work.

Rarely do attractive cars also offer great all-around visibility but, then again, the 2025.5 Volvo XC90 is no ordinary car. Volvo takes its own path with the XC90, and nowhere is that more evident than the interior. A tiny Swedish flag attached to the side of the front seat subtly celebrates the brand’s unique heritage, but the 2025.5 XC90 interior needs more than charm to succeed among three-row luxury SUVs today.

We experience Acura’s new small luxury SUV in person and give our first impressions. This small SUV could be absolutely huge for Acura. Just as the Integra four-door welcomes new car buyers to the luxury brand, the 2025 Acura ADX should do the same in the SUV space—if it’s any good. Buyers have tons of other small luxury SUV choices, though, so the 2025 ADX needs to make a positive impression. Is there enough of a luxury feel inside to compete with more established rivals?

What we’ve learned from half a year with a catalytic converter shield from Millercat. It’s the rough idle no Toyota Prius owner ever wants to hear. When my neighbor heard a “loud, throaty sound” from his otherwise quiet Prius one morning, he knew the catalytic converter had been stolen.

Well pricedGreat mpgFlexible cargo areaLoud powertrainRide isn’t luxury car smoothUSB-A, not the newer USB-C in the third rowIt’s always something, isn’t it? For years, we asked Infiniti to give the QX60 a different engine, and once it finally does, we’re still somewhat unsatisfied. The popular luxury three-row SUV has always leaned toward value as a differentiator, but loaded non-luxury three-rows have never been better.

Rich interiorStandard power-reclining rear seatsWell-tuned EV modeDriver display needs a redesignNeeds more electric rangeCould charge quickerAh, the Lexus RX 450h+. To the uninitiated, the name sounds like Lexus picked random characters out of a hat, but the SUV is actually the most expensive RX Lexus has ever offered. It’s also the very first plug-in hybrid RX, and we can’t help but think of it as a partially electrified alternative to the RZ EV.

Nothing excites me more for the future than being forcefully pushed into it. Wait, no, that’s not right. These days, new car technology progresses at a frenetic pace, and sometimes it feels like you’ll be left behind if you don’t live at the cutting edge. But that's not true. They’re just cars—get what makes you happy. Your consideration set might include a plug-in hybrid like the 2024 Toyota Prius Prime I’m driving for a yearlong test, along with gas, hybrid, or fully electric cars.

It’s true, but plenty of awesome and affordable options still exist if you know where to look. For a while, “awesome” was exactly how we described the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid.
