The Orlando Magic wrapped up their final practice on Tuesday inside TD Garden ahead of Game 2 against the Boston Celtics. The Magic are looking to bounce back after a 103-86 loss in game one on Sunday. Paolo Banchero recorded a game-high 36 points in game one, but only Franz Wagner joined Banchero in notching double figures. The WESH 2 sports team is in Beantown with the Magic and got exclusive interviews with Banchero, Wagner and other Magic players. Game 2 is on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. tip-off.

The Florida Gators win the program’s first SEC Tournament Championship since 2014. The Gators defeated Tennessee 86-77 to win the fourth tournament title in program history.Walter Clayton Jr. led the Gators with 22 points, five rebounds and two assists. Will Richard added 17 points. The Gators had five players score in double figures.Next up, Florida awaits their seeding in the NCAA Tournament. McKenzie Milton returns to UCF football as quarterback coach

UCF announced Tuesday that former star quarterback McKenzie Milton has been hired by Scott Frost to become the Knights quarterbacks coach.Milton and Frost helped lead the Knights to the undefeated 2017 season and Peach Bowl victory. During his time at UCF Milton was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Year award twice.His best year came in 2017 when he threw for 4,037 yards 37 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

The three bowl game matchups in Orlando are official. On Sunday, the StaffDNA Cure Bowl, Pop-Tarts Bowl, and Cheez-It Citrus Bowl were announced.The 10th annual StaffDNA Cure Bowl will feature the C-USA Champion Jacksonville State Gamecocks against the Mid-American Conference Champion Ohio Bobcats at Camping World Stadium on Friday, Dec. 20, at noon.The Pop-Tarts bowl will feature an ACC-Big 12 matchup when #13 Miami faces #18 Iowa State on Saturday, Dec.
UCF rehires Scott Frost as next football head coach, reports say

Multiple reports have surfaced that the UCF coaching search has come to an end and athletic director Terry Mohajir has hired a familiar face in Scott Frost. Frost famously led the Knights to a 13-0 season in 2017 and a National Championship. WESH 2 has reached out to a UCF athletics spokesperson but has yet to hear back.Following the 2017 season, Frost left UCF to take over the head coaching job at his alma mater, Nebraska. Frost was fired after a 1-2 start in the 2022 season.
Orlando Magic's Franz Wagner suffers torn right oblique

The Orlando Magic announced on Saturday that star forward Franz Wagner has suffered a torn right oblique. His timetable for return is currently uncertain, but he will be re-evaluated in four weeks. A source close to the UCF football program has confirmed with WESH 2 that UCF football head coach Gus Malzahn has resigned from his position and will become the next offensive coordinator at Florida State. A Florida State spokesperson told WESH 2, “We have identified our next offensive coordinator and will have an official announcement once the hiring process is complete.”Malzahn recorded a 28-24 record during his time in Orlando.

UCF football head coach Gus Malzahn announced on Monday the firing of defensive coordinator Ted Roof after the Knights' fifth consecutive loss, this time to No. 11 BYU on Saturday. "These decisions were 100 percent my decision," Malzahn said during his weekly news conference. UCF lost 37-24 at home to BYU over the weekend. The Orlando Magic and guard Jalen Suggs have reached a contract extension. The Magic announced the extension via a press release Monday. Per team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed. But according to reports, the deal is said to be a five-year extension worth $150.5 million.The Magic selected Suggs with the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Since then, he has averaged 11.5 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game and 1.32 steals per game in his career.
