    Tim Hortons’ in Belleville and Stirling were able to raise $97,000 for the YMCA Centre for Life campaign as part of the restaurant’s Smile Cookie Campaign. The announcement was made at the YMCA’s Central East Ontario – Belleville branch location on Tuesday. “The last time we did this was 2022, and we raised $54,000 and an additional 43 on top of that is just, it’s remarkable,” David Allen, President & Chief Executive Officer of YMCA Central East Ontario, tells media after the announcement.

    The Wiggle Waggle Walkathon took place in Trenton on Sunday. Dogs and their owners were strolling the open space at Centennial Park. Vendors were also out selling items and organizing raffles. The Walkathon began at 11 a.m with dogs following the guided path. Also happening at the event is the performance show showcasing dogs agility also taking place. The first 100 walkers received a swag bag. All proceeds from the event go to animal care at the Humane Society Hastings-Prince Edward’s shelter.

    Prince Edward County OPP have made an arrest in a sexual assault case. Police responded to a call about a sexual assault on Friday, at approximately 9am, inside a provincial park in Prince Edward County. After an investigation, police arrested a male suspect on the same day. A 19 year old man from Marlbank has been charged with sexual assault and sexual assault causing bodily harm. The accused was released from custody, and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
