Counting has begun in parts of the United States after voters went to the polls to choose whether to make Donald Trump or Kamala Harris their new president, in what is expected to be one of the closest elections in American history. The first results went according to expectations, with Trump winning the states of Florida, Kentucky and Indiana and Harris winning Vermont, Massachusetts and Maryland.
