Cherokee High School has appointed Curtis Cagle as interim football coach, replacing Tim Hawkins. Cagle previously served as Cherokee's defensive coordinator and has head coaching experience at North Buncombe. The final Western North Carolina high school football coach opening has been filled. Cherokee football named Curtis Cagle its interim coach on June 13. He replaces Tim Hawkins, who resigned after coaching the Braves over the past two seasons. Cagle is a familiar face for Cherokee.
