The Trump administration’s string of federal funding freezes against elite American universities has turned the spotlight on their respective boards of trustees. The now-tarnished Harvard University, which is one of the most hostile campuses for Jewish students, is borrowing $750 million as a stopgap measure to cover the $9 billion it has lost in federal funding.

The Trump administration is well on its way to ridding public colleges and universities of diversity, equity and inclusion programming. President Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-DEI executive order and the Department of Education’s Feb. 14 “Dear Colleague” letter are good first steps. But to root out this toxic ideology effectively, the administration must tap higher education insiders who understand the inner workings of academia.

OPINION: On Feb. 12, the Kennedy Center board appointed President Trump as the chair after he fired several Biden-appointed board members in response to activist programming laden with queer and far-left ideologies, including drag queen performances aimed at children. America needs decisive, unorthodox action to salvage our national culture from the depravity of politically engineered art. The John F.

The only way to fix American higher education is from outside the system. The moral rot within universities is too deep and expansive for any minor reforms to make an impact. Universities have failed students and now need a shock to their system to redeem themselves.

OPINION: Parents of high schoolers are now the most powerful force in higher education. As they take their teens to visit colleges and guide them through the application process, they must have the courage to reject the elite schools that failed to protect students from the violent protests and disruptive activism we saw this past spring. For too long, these schools have enjoyed their grand status in American society.

Campus Reform’s coverage of post-election therapy sessions, canceled classes, and public diatribes do nothing to dissuade the impression that professors don’t really teach anymore. Yes, there are classes, but the confluence of grade inflation, lower academic standards, and activist scholarship has gutted higher education’s value. No wonder that students are struggling to cope with a reality that their inward facing and ideologically driven professors have left them unequipped to understand.

Imagine sitting in a room right next to a group of enraged jeering protesters, being called a “colonialist Mexican” in addition to a “Zionist piece of s**t” for supporting a student government budget that funds campus organizations and opposing one that would give nearly $500,000 to a controversial university in the West Bank. That’s what happened Tuesday night to one male junior during the University of Michigan’s Central Student Government’s (CSG) budget vote.

I have never read a history book that meets the needs of the moment with the urgency, clarity, and necessity that Ivan G. Marcus’s How the West Became Antisemitic does. Released in 2024, this is the book Americans needed last year, and that higher education needed last decade. In the last 11 months, Campus Reform covered countless university administrators who failed to protect Jewish students on campuses because they did not grasp that anti-Semitism is the West’s oldest form of racism.
