Over 2,000 residents of Ogun State have benefited from the free medical outreach organised by a Non- Governmental Organisation, Lifegate humanitarian foundation. The 2days medical outreach which took place at trade fair, Landerin, Abeokuta, Ogun State had in attendance certified doctors and nurses. The beneficiaries came with cases such as high/low blood pressure, malaria, diabetes, eye problems etc. The Doctors and Nurses provided essential medical services after diagnosing the beneficiaries.

A two-day day free medical checkup, drug and treatment put together by the LifeGate Humanitarian and Well Being Support will take place between 28th and 29th April 2025. Venue of the Medical Outreach is the Trade Fair Complex, Oke Mosan Abeokuta beginning from 10 am daily. The Country’s Director of the LifeGate humanitarian and Well Being support, Mr Olawale Shodeinde in a statement said the medical outreach is geared towards assisting the less privileged within and outside Abeokuta.

Reports indicate that House of Representatives has voted in support of the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State. In a move that has split Nigerians and has continued to attract severe criticism, President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in Rivers and suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months following the political crisis that had rocked the state.

President Bola Tinubu has declared a state of emergency in Rivers State following the protracted political crisis in the state. Tinubu made the proclamation during a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday, suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara; his deputy Ngozi Odu; and all the members of the House of Assembly for six months. The president also nominated Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (Rtd) as Administrator to take charge of the affairs of the state for the first six months.
