MethodsThe clinical trial design, protocol and outcomes have previously been published.4 8 In brief, RATE-AF was a pragmatic, NHS-embedded, open-label, blinded, endpoint RCT in patients with permanent AF and symptoms of heart failure in need of heart rate control. All participants provided written informed consent after review of participant information material created by the PPI team.
