In a bold move to harness the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and mitigate its inherent risks, President Joe Biden invoked the Defense Production Act in an executive order last October. Section 8(b) of the order specifically addresses health care, requiring the creation of an “AI Task Force” with a clear mission: to promote the adoption of AI for enhancing US health care while ensuring safety, security, and equitable access to these AI solutions.
