That’s why two local groups are coming together to help meet the increased demand for medical equipment. Cutter’s Resource Closet and Sons of Consolation Ministries are finding solutions by working together. Candice Garnett knows all too well what it’s like to need medical equipment after her brother was in a terrible car accident.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Tuesday was a fun day outside the classroom for kids over at SRP Park!The GreenJackets hosted Education Day, which is an experience designed specifically for students. Contests, prizes, educational tables to visit, plus baseball, all in one spot. Teachers are even given an Education Day packet, which is full of math, science and history activities for students to do. For a lot of these schools, it’s not their first time coming to Education Day.

If you’re looking for other things to do while you’re here, the Augusta Museum of History has you covered. They are open all week long and encourage you to come learn about the city’s rich history as well as expand your golf knowledge. They have two golf galleries where visitors are able to learn about the evolution of the sport as well as some well-known golfers.

They’re a part of Habitat for Humanity and since 2005, a large group of female volunteers have been hard at work constructing homes for families in need. The group needs your help as they get ready to build their 14th home. If you’re a woman with a heart to give back, the Aiken County Women Build program could be a great fit for you.
