1 Introduction Globally, lung cancer ranks as the most frequently diagnosed cancer and exhibits the highest cancer-specific mortality rate among both males and females [1]. Annually, around two million fresh instances of lung cancer are detected, leading to 1.7 million new cancer-related fatalities, accounting for 11.6% of all cancer cases and 18.4% of all cancer-related deaths worldwide [2]. Nonsmall cell lung cancer prevails as the predominant form of this malignancy [3].

AbstractPolycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) mediates developmental gene repression as two classes of holocomplexes, PRC2.1 and PRC2.2. EPOP is an accessory subunit specific to PRC2.1, which also contains PCL proteins. Unlike other accessory subunits that collectively facilitate PRC2 targeting, EPOP was implicated in an enigmatic inhibitory role, together with its interactor Elongin BC.
