1. Introduction Recovery of motor function is of significant importance for physical independence and social integration of stroke patients. One of the ambitions of post stroke motor function restoring (PMFR) is to recouple the brain and external muscles while supporting the patients' personhood by regaining functional activities of daily living (e.g., walking, gait) rather than replacing incomplete limbs with lifelong prostheses (Kübler, 2020).
