1 Introduction GAD65 is an intracellular enzyme crucial for converting glutamate to gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS) [1, 2]. Antibodies against GAD65 are frequently detected in various neurological disorders and in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) [3]. Current reported phenotypes include epilepsy, limbic encephalitis, cerebellar ataxia, and overlap syndromes [2, 4, 5].
