1 Introduction Species subdivision (infraspecific diversity) has important implications for biological research and species conservation (De Queiroz 2007). However, infraspecific taxa are almost by definition partly interfertile, and hence hybridization and introgression between them can make their delimitation more difficult (Abbott et al. 2013; Harrison and Larson 2014).
