1 Introduction Skeletal muscle is pivotal for voluntary movements and respiration. When damaged, adult muscle can fully recover due to muscle stem cells known as satellite cells (SCs) located between the muscle basal lamina and the sarcolemma [1, 2]. These cells have the ability to self-renew and undergo myogenic differentiation [3]. Pax7, a key marker, plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining the adult SC pool [4].
