AbstractIn tomato, sugar content is highly correlated with consumer preferences, with most consumers preferring sweeter fruit1,2,3,4. However, the sugar content of commercial varieties is generally low, as it is inversely correlated with fruit size, and growers prioritize yield over flavour quality5,6,7. Here we identified two genes, tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) calcium-dependent protein kinase 27 (SlCDPK27; also known as SlCPK27) and its paralogue SlCDPK26, that control fruit sugar content.

Bifunctional Sn-Y zeolite triggers tandem catalysis of glucose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is a pivotal multifunctional platform compound. The transformation of glucose to HMF generally follows tandem catalysis including the isomerization of glucose to fructose and the dehydration of fructose to targeted product HMF. Designing robust catalyst with high diffusion performance is highly desired.

1 Introduction Isomorphous incorporation of tetravalent Ti4+, Sn4+, and Zr4+ metal ions into silica frameworks is an effective strategy for synthesizing Lewis acid catalysts without the co-generation of Brønsted acid sites.[1] As a milestone, titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) with the MFI topology was first reported in 1983, which attracted significant research interest because of the unique activated ability of the tetrahedrally coordinated Ti4+ ions to peroxides.[1] Subsequently, the successful...
