1. IntroductionFoamy viruses, which are members of the Retroviridae family and belong to the Spumaretrovirinae subfamily, set themselves apart by the paradox of their pathogenicity [1]. PFV infection differs significantly across cells and animals, causing a severe cytopathic effect in adherent fibroblast cultures but no identifiable correlation with illness in living organisms [2,3].
