    Wenn nicht in letzter Minute noch diplomatische Anstrengungen die Wende bringen, dürfte die Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Westafrikanischer Staaten (ECOWAS) ihr 50-jähriges Bestehen im nächsten Monat nicht nur mit drei Mitgliedstaaten weniger begehen, sondern sich auch mit dem Beginn eines Handelskriegs konfrontiert sehen. Der Konflikt droht, jahrzehntelange Bemühungen um regionale Integration und Freihandel zunichtezumachen.

Od jula 2023. 15-člani regionalni blok osnovan 1975.

Since July 2023, the 15-member regional bloc founded in 1975 has been gripped by a crisis of legitimacy over its stance on the wave of military coups in the region.
